Remembering Charlie Chaplin (April 16, 1889 - December 25, 1977)
Sir Charles Spencer 'Charlie' Chaplin was among those
initial people who used cinema as a medium which can spread awareness about
political philosophies.
Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, popularly known as Charlie
Chaplin, was an English actor and director. He was born on April 16, 1889 while
he breathed his last on December 25, 1977.
Chaplin influenced the actors across the world in a big
way. Actors who try to copy Chaplin's mannerism can be found in almost every
film industry, even now.
Late pop singer Michael Jackson was a fan of Chaplin.

Charlie's popularity among the audiences was not
dependent on international boundries. Russian artist Vasily Slonov works on his
installation in Krasnoyarsk in this photograph.
Chaplin officially retired the Tramp in the film 'Modern
Times', which appropriately ended with the Tramp walking down an endless highway
toward the horizon. The film was only a partial talkie and is often called the
last silent film.
'The Great Dictator' was Chaplin's first talking picture.
The film created ripples due to its political stand.

It's been 35 years since Charlie Chaplin's death but his
popularity is still intact. He will continue to inspire filmmakers for another
century at least.
