Hikvision, China has grown from a small company of only 28 employees, into a global enterprise with more than 5,000 employees, including 1,400 R&D engineers. With the largest R&D team in the industry and the capability for continuous innovation, Hikvision in India, is one of the leading and well accepted brand for video surveillance products and solutions.

Our major milestones are;

1. For two consecutive years, Hikvision was recognized as the No.1 worldwide supplier of DVRs by IMS Research “World Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment Report 2011’
2. Hikvision was ranked No. 7 in the category of network cameras.
3. In terms of CCTV & Video Surveillance Equipment, Hikvision moved up from last year’s fifth position to No. 4 for this year.
4. Listed for three years in a row in “Security 50” - A market survey recognizing the top 50 security vendors in global security market (No. 10 in 2010).
5. 
   Hikvision soared all the way up to the No.1 spot for supplier of enterprise DVRs, which greatly improved upon last year’s fifth position.

Q.Could you brief us about overall business activities of Hikvision (tie-ups, associations, reach, network)? Hikvision is a leading supplier of digital video surveillance products with three decades of experience in research and development of video technology, from A/V Compression Cards, Embedded Net DVRs and multi-purpose Digital Video Servers, to networked front-end products such as IP cameras and IP Speed Domes. We have a very strong distribution network globally as well as in India. We already have more than 15 branches across India to fulfill our customer needs. Our products are used in more than 100 countries and have been used to secure various security applications around the world.

Q.Can you elaborate more about the product portfolio & it’s applications? We offer wide range of products including Surveillance cameras (Both Analog as well as IP), Digital Video Recorders (DVR’s), Network Video Recorders (NVR’s), Hybrid Video Recorders (HVR’s), Digital Video Server (DVS), Mobile DVR’s, Intelligent Video Management Software (IVMS), Video encode and decode cards.
Depending upon the customer requirements our distributors, dealers, and system integrators can choose the price-quality combination that fits them best. Hikvision range of products have already been installed across various vertical establishments which include sectors like Banking and Finance, Defense, Healthcare, Real Estate, Retail, Railways, Airports, Power plants, Textile Industry, Stadium, Nuclear Plants, Hotels, Petrol pumps, Education and various other vertical establishments.

Q.Which are the some of your pioneering products you introduced in the market recently or is there any plan to launch the new products? With a huge team of 1400 R&D engineers we are continuously working towards developing new products which would suit various customer requirements. We have recently introduced DS-7200 HVI-SE and DS-7200 HVI-SN series of standalone DVR’s. We are planning to launch few more products at the IFSEC India 2011 and invite everyone of you to visit our booth i.e. A140 to get further details of the same.

Q.How do you account R&D activity in your company? As mentioned earlier we have 1400 engineers in our R&D team, which is one of the largest R&D teams in the industry with the capability of continuous Innovation. Hikvision holds more than 100 patents and software copyright registrations.

Q.How do you foresee “India” as a potential market, what are the prospects?“India has just touched the tip of the iceberg, where the entire iceberg is yet to be captured”. The significance of security & surveillance systems have changed over the years as people are realizing the benefits derived from it. Recent events and terrorist attacks have significantly influenced the way one considers what are adequate levels of security. The more common threat from sabotage or theft by employees is also adding to the need and increased requirement for better security and surveillance in the corporate arena. With government’s target to cover India under surveillance in the next 10-12 years, there is a huge scope for this industry. Today, a lot of developers too have started incorporating security & surveillance as one of the amenities across various projects. Most of the nationalized banks too are ramping up their security to catch up its pace with the private banks. As one of the leaders in security industry, we see huge potential in the Indian market in coming years.

Q.What are the distinguishing facts of global market as against the Indian market? Indian Market growing Y-O-Y by 30% growth rate, capturing new technology very quickly. For security and surveillance Americas and Europe are the biggest market; but India is catching up pace with lots of projects waiting in pipeline. Recent events and terrorist attacks have significantly influenced the way one considers what are adequate levels of security in India, hence pushing demand in Indian market. City surveillance is one of the most potential segments in Indian surveillance industry as government targets to cover India under surveillance in the next 10-12 years. Our range of IP cameras are embedded with advanced technology to capture every movement and are ideal for such city surveillance projects.
